An original musical set during the critical years after the end of WWII, when the seeds of the Cold War were sown. At the center of the story is Voice of America, the real life radio station which has represented the United States overseas for 75 years. ‘Voice’ draws on dramatic true elements from VOA’s history, including scrutiny by the infamous McCarthy-run House Un-American Activities Committee, and the complicated propaganda relationship between the US and the Soviet Union. The New York based studios of VOA provide the backdrop for the classical musical plots line, complete with romance, mistaken identity, and a pair of hapless Russian spies keeping the audience laughing throughout.

A comedic one-act play set inside a human embryo, shortly after conception, and shortly before the cell splits. During this time the genes meet to design and build the DNA of the child, bickering over which genetic traits should receive priority. The actors represent various stereotypes in a boardroom-like setting of satire and parody. Making Babies was a winner of the 2009 Baker’s Plays High School Playwriting Competition and published through Samuel French/Concord Theatricals.
